~ Carpinteria is the beachy community to the south of SB, along the 101 freeway. Carp has historically been an agricultural community with all of its own services. the downtown area hosts a weekly farmers market and monthly gatherings, where Linden Ave. (Carp's Main St.) is closed down and people wander freely. There are great restaurants and shops all with a flip flop, beach cruiser vibe. There are several neighborhoods to choose from, some close to the beach while others sit on the mountainside. Many homes are more affordable than the rest of SB. ~
